I’ve made my novella, An Impetuous Season, FREE. If you’re using a Nook or something that needs it in an epub format, go to Goodreads.com.
The Kindle Windows version (Mac people, continue on down the page for more info) requires a little more work on your part. First, plug your Kindle into your computer. You’ll do this by disassembling your Kindle’s power cord–the USB adapter is plugged into the electrical plug. Connect the USB adapter to your computer. You’ll hear a chime of some sort when it connects. Now, click right here in the purple. Your computer should recognize that this is a Kindle file and prompt you to download it to your Kindle. You’ll be downloading a file called “verity.prc”
If that doesn’t happen, you’ll need to save the file to your desktop (so you can find it in a minute). Now find your Kindle.
It will be listed your computer’s “Documents” window. Your drives will be listed to the left. Double click on the word “Kindle”. Then double click on the folder named “Documents”. When that opens you’ll be looking at all the books stored on your Kindle. Now find verity.prc on your desktop. Drag and drop it into the documents folder. And that’s it. An Impetuous Season is now yours to read.
To install on a Mac using Safari you have to right-click on this link and then tell you Mac to “Save As”. Or, download Google’s free browser Chrome to your Mac. Chrome will auto-open the file as a Kindle if you have the Kindle App installed on your Mac. (Thanks to KMB for bringing this to my attention! I should have tried it on my old Mac first–sorry, I forgot about you alternate reality guys.)

Have so enjoyed your books and the historical details are so interestingg
Thanks so much, Anne! I pretty much enjoy the research more than the writing, so it’s a good thing I found a way to use all that research.
Just discovered your books the other day–and I love them! Thanks for the free novella too!
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the first of your books that I have read: “Winters Heat”. I have the others on my wishlist for my Kindle so I will get them gradually.
I love history and studied alot in school so it was wonderful to read the end of your book and see that you had researched and things in the book were accurate as this made it more enjoyable for me to be able to learn while I enjoy a good novel.
I also really enjoyed your free Novella so thank you so much.
Sadly the download didn’t work for me. Could it be a Mac thing? When I click the link I get a page with text but lots of code too.
You’re welcome! Thanks so much for liking my books…
D.
The research is the part I love. The writing is WORK! Glad you enjoyed it!
D.
I should have fired up my old Mac and tried it first and listed instructions. Sorry! To download using Safari you have to right-click and “Save As”. Or, download Google’s free browser Chrome to your Mac. It will auto-open the file as a Kindle if you have the Kindle App installed on your Mac. Try again! Thanks, D.
Denise,
Have read all of the Graistan series and loved it. Trying to download free novella to my kindle and am not being successful. Here is the message I receive “Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.” I searched for the file verity.prc and it puts me back to this page. Don’t know if is now unavailable or not.
Going to Amazon to download your Lady Series. Love your books.
Oh Susan, I’m so sorry! Moving my website has been quite a trauma. I’ve had to do everything twice because it didn’t take the first time, then when it finally recognized me and my files, I had duplicates of everything. Apparently I removed the REAL Verity and not the shadow. Try again and you should get it this time.
And thanks so much for enjoying my FitzHenry lads! I hope you like the others as well.
Denise
i have just recently discovered you writings . i have greatly enjoyed them and am eagerly awiating for more to be digitised since i solely use my kindle
Thanks so much, Evelyn. I’m formatting Lady in White today, hoping to have her up within the week. That leaves only Warrior’s Game and Almost Perfect. When they’re done I expect I’ll have to start writing again.
